OPT-OUT PROCEDURE

THE RULES

The enabling legislation provides that all users in the Marin Energy Authority service area will be automatically converted to MEA customers unless they elect to Opt-Out.

TIMING

The MEA has already enrolled most industrial, commercial and govenment agency users the their Phase 1 and Phase 2a activities and is now planning to enroll all remaining potential users, including all of the residential units during this July 2012.

Customers will receive four mailed notices informing them of their enrollment in Marin Clean Energy. Two notices are mailed during the 60 days prior to the start of service and two notices are mailed during the 60 days following the start of service. These notices provide general information about Marin Clean Energy, give a summary of terms and conditions and also provide information about a customer’s right to Opt-Out so as to continue receiving electricity from PG&E

PROCEDURE

Customers may opt out of MEA (Marin Clean Energy) by calling (888) 632-3674 or by visiting www.marincleanenergy.com on the internet and selecting the Opt-Out menu in the upper right hand corner of their home page. You will need your name, address, zip code, PG&E Account Number from the first page of your bill and the PG&E Electric Service Account Number from the electricity portion of your bill, your telephone number and an e-mail address. You will also be asked several optional reasons for why you wish to Opt-Out.
